Refining our Intuition - True Charm

There is a little whisper that bubbles up through our nervous system known in the Vedic tradition as fine level of feeling (FLF for short), which is more commonly known as our intuition, sixth sense or "gut instinct". As we meditate more regularly, we both sharpen and refine our sensory perception - the sharper five senses combine to form a sixth sense able to detect the subtle shifts in the evolutionary forces around us - and we systematically remove the obstacles (the stresses in our nervous system) to detecting this FLF, and our capability to hear the little whisper increases dramatically. We have a fine level of feeling about something, one thing is a little bit more "charming" than another, hence the term charm, which readily describes that feeling that has us move in one direction over another: it just feels a little more charming, or sometimes unequivocally charming.

How do we know if it's true charm? If we are attached to the outcome of moving in that direction, then usually it is the mind seeking happiness outside of itself. If we feel we really "need" it, or the outcome of that direction, it's often not true charm. If we have decided something mentally, according to what we think will be good for us, then it's often not charm. Charm is a feeling, a little wave of pleasure that comes when we scan one particular choice, option or direction.

If we feel that we are almost not sure why it's charming, but can sense that feeling there, then it tends to be true charm. Charm may have no reason to it that can be perceived by the intellect, no need for an outcome. We may sense charm for something or to do something, and very quickly the mind will start to tally the pros and cons, and find a reason to follow charm. This is fine, we note that behaviour of the mind, the "need to know" and continue to move in the direction charm is taking us. Likewise, if the cons outweigh the pros, we still favour moving in the direction of charm.

Charm, that fine level of feeling, is essentially like a window on the calculator screen of Universal intelligence. The pervading creative intelligence that is our deepest nature, the unified field and the source of all matter that exists. Charm is always leading us in the most evolutionary direction, the most frictionless path that contains outcomes that the intellect cannot perceive, in alignment with nature, for our own and the collective highest good.

The more we meditate, the more our desires come from charm. We become a ready outlet for the evolutionary action of the Universe, with charm and the subsequent desire we feel as the method of having us fulfil those evolutionary actions. We may never know the reason something was charming - perhaps we avoided an accident, or unknowingly prevented one from occurring.
